The Western Force claim they are well advanced in finalising a Super Rugby head coach to replace Richard Graham, saying their list of candidates has been trimmed and is ready for the interview stage.
Graham shocked the Force last month when he revealed he would leave the Perth-based franchise to take up a role as Queensland Reds' head coach starting from next season.
The Force have kept the shortlist of candidates to replace Graham close to their chest.

But names such as All Blacks great John Kirwan, Stade Francais mentor Michael Cheika, former Wallabies assistant Tim Lane, ex-Reds' coach Phil Mooney, Andy Friend and John Mulvihill are rumoured to be in the mix.
In Graham's absence, backs' coach Phil Blake has taken over the Force head role with input from assistants Nick Stiles and Andrew Scotney along with players David Pocock and Nathan Sharpe.
The new coaching structure is yet to taste a win in three games, with the Force's 53-11 loss to the Sharks last weekend their worst of the season.
Force chief executive Vern Reid said the franchise was closing in on a new coach, but warned a final announcement could still be several weeks away.
"Although the list has been trimmed, as late as last Friday, another highly-credentialed coach threw his hat into the ring and there might still be others who put up their hands for consideration," the Force said in a statement on Wednesday.
"In parallel with this process, the ongoing recruitment of players is taking place and it is anticipated that a series of announcements will occur between now and the end of the season."
The struggling Force have won just two of their 11 games this season, and take on the Melbourne Rebels at Perth's nib Stadium on Sunday.
